May 17, 2010 Unlock all weapons in BF2 SP Mini Spy. Open the Kits directory, then open the subdirectory of which faction you wish to unlock: (US, MEC.

Bronze, Silver and Gold stars and some kind of combat ribbon but it doesn't want to know. I got a weapon unlock the same time I made it to Lance Corporal.
It didn't happen immediatly, though. I was told about the promotion in-game, but I didn't get the weapon unlock until I exited the game then came back. I chose the bigger Support MG.
Forget what it's called (PKM?). Seems to have about the same accurracy (although the game info claims it's less) than the normal support MG. Slower fire rate but is definitely much more deadly. Nice weapon but it's so loud it screams 'i'm over here! Shoot me here!' I do not know what the exact threshold number is. BTW, the unlocked weapons are only a slight step-up - great fun/kudos to have but not totally overwhelming, so that the game-play balance is preserved. John Lewis - Technology early-birds are flying guinea-pigs.

More of a prestige thing. Apparently the big sniper rifle is a joke. Some have said that its less accurate than the standard rifle but given its size it should kill with a single shot.
Apparently not. good skill system ala Wolf:ET;-) You only gain ranks/medals/ribbons if you play on special 'ranked' servers. These are full most of the time, so it's hard to get a free slot and they also do lag more than normal unranked servers, I found. Apart from the weapons you unlock at certain 'experience-levels', it's all pretty much just for show only. Looks like this: SP is a joke, actually. Only the smallest size of the maps (16 players) is available, so you don't even get to see and use all the nice hardware that's available on the bigger maps. Teamplay, or better put, the lack thereof, can be quite frustrating sometimes, and I mean banging your head on your keyboard frustrating, gnashing your teeth and shouting at your monitor frustrating.
Other times it's just great. The server-browser is a pain in the ass and the connection can be quite unstable. Major lag sometimes, on servers with good (.

Maybe not but you need to be able to know how to use the weapons and vehicles properly. You can get the basic layout of the map(s) but some are only available online for some reason. The biggest thing for me is people need to learn how to fly before they go online. The number of times I have been heading towards a helicopter and some idiot with a fancy name, and clan tags in front of it no less, gets into it before me.
I dutifully get in and man the guns, miniguns, whatever.and promptly die a few seconds later because the stupid bastard can't even take off properly. Or we get half way across the map and then bails out because he just wanted to parachute onto a flag so unless I watch carefully to switch to pilot I die too. If it was my server I was running I would have some simple rules: Not following squad leader/commander orders = Gentle reminder and if persistent, kick If they come back and repeat = Ban for a week Driving off and stranding people asking for a lift = See above Persistent TKing = Kick and ban A bit draconian but I want to run a strict team play server and would advertise it as such. Inexperienced players need not apply and all that. 95% max probability, exactly like the standard one. However, use it to shoot through the armored glass of the helicopters. Yeah, I did think about going for that but I get tired of sniping to be honest. Plus I don't think its realistic to shoot someone in the head from 20 metres away with a sniper rifle and not have them die. I actually had to finish them off with the pistol! I've seen this several times. Dead on head shot and they just turn around looking for you.
I have killed them like this before of course a few times but to my mind a head shot should be a one shot kill for all weapons except perhaps the pistols, which should at least knock their helmet off or something like that. He, he Bugs galore. The server-browser is a pain in the ass and the connection can be quite unstable. Major lag sometimes, on servers with good (in a vehicle and when the wreck explodes and kills a teammate standing nearby you get a teamkill. Especially nice if said teammate then chooses not to forgive you, so you'll get punished for it. I've made it a habit to forgive all tks, except for the real obvious ones.
Patch is needed badly, imo. Think I'll stick to some Wolf:ET for my team-based online fps fix for now still. I have EQ2 for grinding & plenty SP stuff yet to get through. In an arcadey way of course. I'm sure a balistics expert would laugh himself to sleep over it but when walking slowly up a slope with the scope to my eye I caught one guy in the right shoulder. It killed him and spun him around and back to the right, just how my mind would imagine it to. Another case a guy was running towards me up a hil and I nailed him in his right leg. It pushed his legs back and he fell down face first and slid back down the hill. The most dramatic was on that big dam level. This guy was running up some steps if memory serves and I jumped out and hit him square in the torso with a shotgun blast.
It toppled him over backwards and he almost cartwheeled back down. My sick mind really appreciates those little touches! feh, you mean the incredibly over the top and jingly-jangly ragdoll?
Why do developers still think limbs flailing in every impossible direction is still so amazing. And that is the point. It's not an arcadey ragdoll. It's completely loose and retarded looking. Tighten it up a bit, jesus. Or you should lighten up a bit and not take your gaming so seriously.
Much of the BF2 action whether their rag-doll or vehicle destruction animations is frequently good for a laugh, just as in BF1942. The lack of gore is unrealistic too, but quite appropriate for this fun action game. Just blood splashes for bullets but if someone triggers and anti-tank mine or is blown up by C4 I want to see body parts everywhere.
IF a grenade maybe just a limb blown off.
Disabling the Intro Movies The introductory movies to BF2, although fun to watch the first couple of times, fast become quite annoying, adding to the startup times for the game, as well as the memory usage (the main movie is 135MB in size). To disable them permanently, I don't recommend deleting the movie files - this may cause problems with verification of client information on certain servers and/or with Punkbuster. Instead, simply rename the relevant files in your Program Files EA Games Battlefield 2 mods bf2 Movies directory to something else (e.g. Rename the Intro.bik to Intro.backup).
The files to rename are: Dice.bik, EA.bik, Intro.bik, Legal.bik and Welcome.bik. This will mean the intro movies are all skipped as BF2 starts to load. If you find the movies playing in the background of the Login screen and Settings screens annoying, you can also rename the menu.bik and menuloggedin.bik to something else as well. If you've also renamed/removed the menu.bik and menuloggedin.bik movies, and don't want a dull grey background in the in-game menus, then download this small file (201KB), extract the contents and copy them to your Movies directory. These small files show the BF2 logo in the background, and look much nicer.
Thanks to EdisLeado for preparing these files. Removing all the original movies from the game can save over 250MB of data being loaded up during the start of the game and being placed into memory - this will help smooth your gameplay particularly for those with less RAM. If for any reason you experience any problems with the game after renaming the movies, simply rename them back to their original names. Update: Instead of the above, the quick way to disable the intro movies is to simply use the +restart command line command in your BF2 startup icon: E.g.: 'C: Program Files EA Games Battlefield 2 BF2.exe' +restart See the Advanced Tweaking section for more details on how to use command line options.
